Patient Intake Methods

Astral provides two intake flows tailored to different levels of detail: Basic and Full. Use Basic when you need a fast registration, and Full when clinical background is required ahead of time.

Who can use intake

  • Therapists (Psychiatrist, Psychologist): Basic and Full intake for their own patients.
  • Assistants: Basic intake on behalf of assigned therapists.

For role capabilities, see User Roles & Permissions.

Choosing an intake type

  • Use Basic to capture essential demographics and preferences quickly.
  • Use Full when you need medical, legal, or extended biographical context before the first consultation.

Steps (concise)

  1. Open Patients or the relevant intake entry point.
  2. Select Basic or Full.
  3. Fill required fields; optional fields as needed.
  4. Save to create the patient record.
